Viñales Valley is an ideal place to contemplate and admire the beauty of the Cuban landscape. It is located in a small rural town in the province of Pinar del Río, only 25 km from the provincial capital and 178 km from Havana. It creates a privileged and unique landscape where heights of metamorphic rocks combine with karst mountains and valleys of incomparable beauty, known locally as “mogots”. It is also known for having the world’s best tobacco fields and Cuba’s largest cave system.
It takes about two and a half hours from Havana to enjoy the most beautiful scenery in Cuba, the Viñales Valley, 80% of which is devoted to tobacco production and provides the best leaves for the best Cuban Cigars. With your tour guide, you will visit a typical private farmer’s house where tobacco leaves are grown and see how cigars are rolled. You can also visit the Mural de la Prehistoria and take a beautiful boat tour through the underground waters of Cueva del Indio. A typical Cuban lunch will be served on site.
- Scheduled pick up in the hotels.
- Visit to La Casa del Veguero, where you can enjoy a welcome cocktail and appreciate the tobacco plantations that are cultivated there.
- Visit to Los Jazmines viewpoint, a place offering a magnificent general view into Viñales Valley.
- Visit to Cueva del Indio, with a boat ride on the river that runs inside the cave. Lunch at a local restaurant.
- Visit to Prehistorical Mural, gigantic painting made in a Mogote. It shows the life’s evolution process in the Sierra de los Organos.
